Man & Woman of the Year

About the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Eastern North Carolina Chapter's Man & Woman of the Year Program:
The Man & Woman of the Year campaign is a fundraising competition among individuals in the community who vie for the honor of being the Man or Woman of the Year.  Candidates are judged solely on a philanthropic basis.

Scott Jackson & Haidyn ReinhardtThe 2009 Man & Woman of the Year will be named based on their success in generating funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society during a ten week campaign which began at the Kickoff Party on Thursday, March 26 and will culminate at the Grand Finale Celebration on Thursday, June 4.  The candidates raise money in honor of local blood cancer survivors, the LLS Eastern NC Chapter Boy and Girl of the Year.

After 10 weeks of fundraising, candidates and their guests will join sponsors and other prominent community members at the Grand Finale celebration for the announcement of the Man & Woman of the Year.

Guests will celebrate the outstanding achievements of all candidates while participating in the excitement of live and silent auctions and enjoying fabulous food, cocktails and music.

How To Help the Man of the Year Campaign:
Scott Jackson99.9 The Fan Sports Talk Host Scott Jackson is running for Man of the Year and needs your help. Jackson co-hosts The Insiders each day on CBC's all-sports all-talk radio station.

"The fundraising has been challenging and rewarding," said Jackson. "It’s amazing to hear from so many people that have a loved one that are battling some type of blood cancer or have lost a loved on to because of it.  Those are the things I run into when talking to people about the campaign."

Jackson explained, "All the men run in honor of the girl of the year and the woman run in honor of boy of the year Charlie Morlock my neighbor.  Both of them look amazing and seeing them do so well gives all of us so much hope for what can be done with the funding for research."

Jackson is running alongside the Girl of the Year Haidyn Reinhardt. She is 5 years old and just had here finally chemotherapy treatment this past weekend. Learn more about Haidyn's progress here.
