About StepUp Ministry:
StepUP Ministry is an interfaith community that partners with over 500 program participants each year in the shared goal of self-sufficiency (stable job, stable home, stable family).
This goal is accomplished through two-life giving programs: The StepUP Jobs Program and the StepUP Life Skills Program.
This plan is a nine-month, phased, incentive driven program leading to safe, affordable housing and stable, life-sustaining employment.
The purpose of the StepUP program is to provide second chances for those committed to living independent, responsible, and productive lives. StepUP Ministry was founded in 1988 by members of White Memorial Presbyterian Church and became an incorporated, self-sustaining 501c(3) in 1989.
The StepUP program is comprised of a series of steps. One must be successfully completed before the next is possible. Built into the model are incentives to motivate and reward patterns of behavior that lead to fiscal responsibility, healthy relationships, and spiritual growth. The goal of the program is to produce graduates who are self-sufficient. That is, those who are in safe affordable housing and have a stable job with a future.
